With the development of information technology, the demand for 3C products such as mobile phones and tablet computers is increasing day by day, and the demand for labor in various processing factories is increasing, which leads to the increase of cost. Therefore, automatic assembly of 3C products by robots has naturally become a trend.

However, unlike industrial robots that are programmed to assemble cars in car shops, robots in 3C assembly cannot be programmed in the same way. Because the 3C assembly line has the characteristics of high frequency conversion, and most parts in the 3C products are designed for manual assembly. If the product is designed through programming, it needs a lot of time and manpower, and a new robot technology is needed, so the cost burden is too large. In addition, the workers in the 3C assembly line are mostly non-professional robotic application personnel. In order to make the assembly robot widely used, the research results need to ensure the simplicity and ease of use of the workers. The research team of Shenzhen mechanical and electrical engineering and automation major of Harbin Institute of Technology proposed demonstration programming (PbD) which is the best solution to this problem.

What is demonstration programming? Demonstration programming refers to the use of robotics system to extract effective information from the human operation demonstration, and then transform the information into the robotics program and parameters, and finally make the robot complete the corresponding operation process. There are some characteristics in the assembly process of 3C,like the working space is relatively small, high precision, the move is complex, and most of the workers on the assembly line 3C c are unprofessional operators, they know very little about industrial robot, therefore, It is important to obtain the data of workers' hand movements without affecting the movement of artificial and natural assembly .After investigation and evaluation, the team chose an optical motion capture system characterized by high precision as the first step in demonstration programming -- a tool to extract human movements.

The team set up six motion-capture cameras in a small space to capture 6Dof of the human hand during assembly, including the position and orientation of the hand. Then, the control strategy of the robotics is obtained by programming through the acquired assembly demonstration action information, so as to drive the robotics to complete the same assembly task in the new environment.

The team has now been able to efficiently transmit human hand movements to robots and has published experimental procedures and results in the IEEE journal, demonstrating that robotsicsic assembly through motion-capture systems is possible .It is believed that in the near future, roboticss will be able to better carry out the assembly of 3C products and even more sophisticated equipment, and motion-capture system will play a greater role in the development of robotsicss.
