Prof. Dr.-Ing M. Ali Nasseri was selected for New Generation Star Project at IROS 2024 launched by NOKOV Motion Capture, and now he is a NOKOV user. In this Interview, he introduced his research work on surgical robots and the challenge of surgical scene perception.
Prof. Dr.-Ing M. Ali Nasseri is an professor at the School of Medicine and Health, Technical University of Munich and an adjunct Professor at the Department of Biomedical Engineering, University of Alberta. He is the founding director of Medical Autonomy and Precision Surgery (MAPS) Lab as an integral part of the ophthalmology department of the Technical University of Munich. His research interests include Medical and Surgical Robotics, Computer Vision and Medical AI. He published 26 Scientific papers in 2024, 35+ patents in robotic micro surgery and more than 100 publications in total. He is also the Coordinator of ForNeRo Project (2024), which is clinical integration of robots in the state of Bavaria, Germany. He involved first 5G Remote Robotic Eye Surgery.
